Report from Bomi County has revealed that a twenty-six-year-old man believed to be a lunatic is currently at large for allegedly murdering an old-man believed to be in his early sixty (Age 60) for one hundred Liberian dollars in the Married Camp in Sinjeh district, Bomi County.
According to report, the old man [name unknown] met his untimely death in his garden when he went to do some farm work where the suspect creeped and murdered him for refusing to pay back his one hundred Liberian dollars lended him.
The report further revealed that the elderly man was allegedly butchered by a young guy identified as Saah Borbor who is believed to be mentally ill and usually caused disturbances in the neighborhood.
The incident is said to have occurred on Saturday, January 14, 2023, between 1-2 PM in the married camp, one of the plantation areas of Mano Oil Company, formerly Sam Debby company.
Eyewitnesses accounts narrated that the deceased and the suspect farms are not far from each other in the plantation and so when they went to farm, the suspect murdered him for refusing to pay back his one hundred Liberian dollars that he borrowed to settle some family issues.
” Borbor killed the old man right in his farm. The body is currently in the farm. The old man was in his farm working when he was creeped on by suspect Borbor and murdered him in his garden. The LNP is now taking statement from all those that were around. Borbor is believed to be a lunatic because he acts somehow most time’’ eyewitnesses noted.
They pointed out that when suspect Borbor has finished committing the act, he escaped the scene and is currently in hiding as the Liberian National Police, Bomi detachment and residents of the community are in such of him.
‘’Some people say he is crazy because of how he can behave but we are surprised that a crazy man will run away after noticing that he killed somebody. We will work with the LNP to make sure we have him arrested, to face the law for what he has done. We believe he might be in this plantation or somewhere in the bushes hiding. ‘’’ they explained further.
Meanwhile, the Liberian National Police has launched a full-scale investigation into the matter. The deceased remains is said to be in the possession of the Liberian National Police.
