The head of the Dr. Urey-Yarkpawolo Foundation for Development and an aspirant in the pending 2023 general elections, Dr. Emmanuel K. Urey Yarkpawolo have completed phase one of his regular monthly tour across Menquelleh and Zota administrative Districts of electoral district #4, Bong County.
Both Panta, Zota and Menquelleh are the three administrative districts that made up of electoral district #4.
At the tour Dr. Urey Yarkpawolo presented kola to several communities as a sign of introducing himself and as well letting the communities know that he will be contesting for the district’s highest seat, representative.
At several town hall meetings, he outlined some of his major developmental initiatives undertaken within the district and Liberia at large.
He mentions the coordination and gains made in the passage of what we now call ‘Land Rights Act’, an act that give rural people rights to own their land and as well most specifically women rights to land.
Dr. Urey Yarkpawolo named the construction of a public school in his home, Gomue village of which is now catering to over 100 school going children.
Among other things he also mentions the construction of US$ 100,000 oil palm factory which is nearing completion.
YFD CEO at the same time encouraged citizens of the district to make sure to participate during the voter’s registration period, which is slated for January of next year, adding that is the only hope that one will form part of the voting process by October of 2023.
At various town hall meetings Dr. Emmanuel Urey Yarkpawolo promised to take university into the district.

He said gone are the days when students from the district will graduate from high school and return home without university /college education, blaming it on lack of finance for parents to support their children to forward their education either in Monrovia or Gbarnga.
“We have learned all of the book, but if one learns a book and is not able to impart his or her community, I believe that book is a waste that is why we are coming to you to give us the chance to lead our district in the rightful direction.
I am a university professor and I know what some of you parents are going through, I know how difficult it is for some of you parents who do not have money to send your children to Gbarnga or to Monrovia to attend university or college , but I want to let you know that if I am elected as your representative together we will bring university here in the district”, he told community members at various town hall meetings across the district .
Meanwhile, several local leaders of towns and villages have pledged their unwavering support towards the election of their son comes 2023 general elections.
Among other communities, Dr. Urey Yarkpawolo visited, Kollie-Ta, Belefinea, Gbanshuesloma, and Gballatua.
