Police in Gbarnga have charged and sent to court a 58-year-old man for allegedly murdering his wife in Massaquoi’s Village, Suakoko District.
According to Detective Superintendent John Kellenso Flomo, the Commander of the Crime Services Division of the Liberia National Police-Bong Detachment, Suspect Kokulo Kpaquoi was arrested by Police in Goll Farm Community on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, for allegedly killing his fiancée Nowai Yarkpawolo Dennis.
Superintendent Flomo said during Police Preliminary investigation, it was established that the suspect murdered the victim for the alleged mismanagement of Five Hundred Liberian Dollars ($L 500).
The CID Commander quoted suspect Flomo as saying, “he killed the lady because she refused to give his cane juice money”.
Mr. John Kellenso Flomo said a 15-man jury constituted to examine the body reported that the victim died as a result of severe wounds.
The report added that Nowai was seen lying in the pool of blood with a deep cut on the back of her neck on their sugar king farm.
In response to the allegation, Suspect Kokulo Kpaquoi voluntarily admitted to the commission of the crime in the presence of Public Defender Cllr. Mohammed Gola-Falay.
He however asked for livingness, stating that his action was not intentional.
Meanwhile, Kokulo Kpaquoi was charged with the crime of murder in accordance with section 14.1 of the panel code and forwarded to the 9th judicial Circuit Court for prosecution.
It can be recalled few Weeks ago, a 45-year-old man identified as Hamilton Flomo mocked his wife Meatta Sigbeh to death in Tassah town, Kpaai administrative district.
He was arrested upon commission of the crime, charged with murder, and sent to court by the Liberia National Police Bong detachment.
