Bong county senator Dr. Henrique Flomo Tokpah has presented ten bags of cement along with five bundles of zinc to citizens of Gbarngasiaquelleh Town in Panta district.
Officially making the donation on behalf of Friends of Tokpah (FOT), Steven Jeffery said the building materials were in fulfilment of a commitment made to the people of Gbarnsiaquelleh during one of their community engagements in Panta district. The materials are meant to buttress the citizens’ effort in the construction of a modern town hall intended to host huge crowd and provide conducive environment for meeting purposes.

Steven Jeffery Remarking During The Presentation
During the presentation, Steve narrated that it was regrettable to have seen a large community like Gbarngasiaquelleh lacking town hall while citizens gather in an opened area every time to discuss issues relevant to the growth and development of their community especially during raining season. With this, the staunch FOT’s member said, Senator Dr. Henrique Flomo Tokpah couldn’t hold back his piece after he paid a courtesy visit to Gbarngasiaqulleh seeing the citizens struggling to initiate their Town hall project but rather to promise his support to the construction till it is completed.
“We came here the last time; the Oldman saw your trying to build town hall for your community. Being a leader of good mind for his people, he saw the need to help in the construction of the town hall. So, we are passing back today to give you ten bags of cement with five bundles of zinc as our initial contribution to the project” Steve asserted.
Taking delivery of the materials on behalf of the community, James Kpakilah ,a permanent son of the area thanked Senator Tokpah and team for living up to their commitment ; describing the donation as timely.
Kpakilah said, since they embarked on the town hall construction, Dr. Tokpah is the only political leader to have identified with them despite letters of support served to other leaders. “We want to say big thank you to Dr. Tokpah and his FOT team for the cement and the zinc. We are very happy and we are praying for Dr. Tokpah to go back in this position so that he can be able to do more for our county” Kpakilah expressed. Some of the citizens who spoke to our reporter pledged their unbending support to the re-election bid of senator Tokpah in the pending presidential and legislative elections.
At the same time, senator Dr. Tokpah held an in-person meeting with a local farming cooperative in Gbarngasiquelleh town to identify constraints faced by them in order to find logical solutions. The local farmer group, whose membership is 86, is involved with the production of vegetables for marketing purposes as means of curtailing poverty in their environment. During the meeting, Dr. Tokpah and his wife Kebbeh Tokpah were able to identify several challenges confronting the farmers amongst which financial support was key.

Mr/s Tokpah In Meeting With Farmers
The Bong County policy maker and his wife promised to launch a village saving loan program for the farmers many of whom are widows and old folks as means of capacitating them to produce on a larger scale for commercialization.
They then presented 10,000LD as initial contribution to the farmers. Gbarnsiaquelleh is situated near the Guinean border in upper Bong County and is considered as the most populated town in Panta district but many of its occupants are involved with subsistence farming.
