On late Thursday evening, December 8, 2022, the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) awarded Dr. Jeety, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jeety Conglomerate, including Jeety Trading Corporation and Jeety Rubber Liberia Limited, received Highest Contributor Award for Real Property Commercial for the fiscal year 2020/2021.
The Indian business tycoon and former Honorary Consul General of India to Liberia, Mr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva (Jeety), in a letter of congratulations to him, the Liberian Revenue Authority (LRA) Commissioner for Domestic Taxes Department, Mr. Darlington Y. Talery, said “We are delighted to inform you of your selection to be awarded ‘Highest Contributor Commercial Real Property for the Fiscal Year 2019/2020. Congratulation!”
Even though the letter to Mr. Jeety stated that he was being honored for fiscal year 2019/2020, but the award reads 2020/2021.
The honoring program which took place on Thursday, December 8 at the EJS Ministerial Complex, is an annual event targeted at improving the culture of tax compliance through honoring and recognizing Liberia’s valuable taxpayers for the enormous contributions to Domestic Revenue Mobilization and consequently, the development of “Mama” Liberia, the LRA stated.
Mr. Jeety himself was not at the program to receive his award; but two of his representatives were present and received the award with exhilaration on behalf of their boss.
The inscription on the award reads: “Jeety Trading Corporation Highest Contributor Real Property-Commercial Taxpayer Appreciation Award 2020/2021.
The elaborate event was graced by present and former officials of government, and several other line ministries including the National Investment Commission.
