Suspects Cyrus Jackson and Junior V. Folley have been forwarded to the Monrovia City Court with multiple Crimes ranging from Forgery, Impersonating Official, Criminal Conspiracy, Criminal Facilitation and Criminal Solicitation respectively.
The two suspects were arrested based on a complaint filed by Lennart Dodoo, Editor- in- Chief of Frontpage Africa Newspaper.
Complainant Dodoo alleged that over the weeks, he received several phone calls from top government officials and other permanent citizens that they have been receiving calls someone purporting to be him (Editor Dodoo) and was requesting for financial assistance.
He further narrated that the two suspects placed a call to individuals that he (Editor Dodoo) was contesting for the Press Union of Liberia presidency and needed money for his petitioning program to be held in Gbarnga, Bong County.
During police preliminary investigation conducted, it was established through facts provided, the interaction between the suspects, Cyrus Jackson and Junior V. Folley to include screenshots of conversations/chats with the Government officials and Fake/ Forged Identification Card of Editor Dodoo.
In view of forgoing facts and circumstances, coupled with the analysis of statements obtained, the investigators charged Suspects Cyrus Jackson and Junior V. Folley with the Crimes: Forgery, Impersonating Official, Criminal Conspiracy, Criminal Facilation and Criminal Solicitation which are in violation of section 15.70, 10.2 and 10.3 of the Revised Penal Law of the Republic of Liberia while suspect George Vaye is charged likewise in abstention.
