Abandoned children in Pleebo Sodoken District, Maryland County are seeking for livelihood and educational support from philanthropists, humanitarian organizations, and the public
According to residents, those children have been abandoned by their respective parents because of the hardship encountered by them in the district.
They further stated that their parents have fled to other parts of the Country which include Grand Kru, River Gee, and Sinoe Counties leaving their children vulnerable.
Speaking with newsman over the weekend, one of the victims only identified as James, said he has been abandoned by his parents since 2021 and do not actually know their whereabouts, noting that he doesn’t have any relative to accommodate him since his parents left him all alone.
James stressed that he usually sell bottles as a means of sustaining himself and added that he joined his colleagues in the process of searching for bottles to sell them before having food to eat.
Among them two are from the same parents who said their parents left them since 2019 and they do not know their whereabouts, while the rest of the others are from different parents.
They used their engagement with the press to call on meaningful organizations, humanitarians, government officials and other well-meaning individuals to come to their aid.
