The opposition Vision for Liberia Transformation (VOLT) Party Political leader Dr. Jeremiah Z. Whapoe, has termed President George Weah recent statement that there is enough food in the storage, and comparing of Liberia capitol City, Monrovia to Miami, Florida as a complete illusion, delusion, unrealistic and misrepresentation of the fact on the ground.

The VOLT leader made the statement over the weekend when he delivered keynote at the graduation ceremony of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Academy (AMEZA). The Presential hopeful said that the statement made by the President is a complete mockery to the Liberian people and escape of the many economic challenges and hygienic situation that is affecting the lives of Liberians.

‘’Our leader are more delusion and illusion about the citizens situation. They have seen Liberian problem in the eyes of themselves instead of looking at it from a reality stand point. Where in this world, can you compare Liberia capitol City to that of Miami, Florida is that not been unrealistic and making fun of Liberian’’ he wondered.

Dr. Whapoe pointed out that honest and committed leadership takes responsibility for their action but the ruling establishment because it is not committed to everything it promised, it always looks for people to blame instead of taking responsibility.

He further wonders why it is that President Weah and his government is finding it difficult to be honest to the Liberian people, when everyone in the country including visitors are seeing the broad day reality on the ground that there is no food and the country is extremely dirty with corruption and dirt as the order of the day then President Weah continue to lie.

Continuing, he noted that as a leader it is crucial to face the reality but the current leadership in the country has refused to accept the wrong and use it as a lesson for improvement, thereby urging this Weah-led government to be honest because Liberian are not fools.

“You know that the nation capitol city, Monrovia is dirty, and has no structure as compared to Miami, Florida but yet the President said that Monrovia have become like Miami. Mr. President, Monrovia cannot be compared to Miami. Not because your house is clean at the expense of those who work for you mean that Liberia is clean and Developed.”

According to Dr. Whapoe, why every citizen’s including visitor is aware of the shortage of rice on the Liberian market and as Liberians are struggling to feed their family, yet in the presence of the rising hike in rice purchase, Pres. Geprge Weah continued to maintain that there is enough rice on the market to take the country to 2023.

He emphasized that Pres. Weah doesn’t care for the people therefore, he lied to them that there is enough rice in the country because he has food to eat in his personal storage and so he believes that everyone has food.

‘’Mr. President, the Liberian people eating bowl is not in your house rather their individual houses therefore, they know what they are going through. Because you have food does not mean the nation has food. Please invest in agriculture so that we can stop begging other nation for food because the hands that feed you control you’’ he said.

Dr. Whapoe went further to urge the Liberian leader and his government to stop speaking deception to the Liberian people, adding that understanding is an empirical character a good leader should have.

He indicated that Liberians do not want to be controlled by other countries because they are the ones feeding them, at such, President Weah should face the reality, and mentioned that the government should learn to see mistake not as the end of the line rather as beginning of hope.
