The Chairperson of the Senate Statutory Committee on Rules, Order and Administration Grand Bassa County Senator, Nyonblee Karnga- Lawrence has commenced an Initiative to train girls across Grand Bassa County on Sexual Gender Based Violence ( SGBV), domestic violence and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
As part of the kickoff process, Over 100 young girls in Grand Bassa county on Friday benefited from the first face of the training.
The program, according to Senator Karnga-Lawrence, is structured under the Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence National Youth Mentoring Program, under the theme: RAPE KILLS HUMANITY.
She added that the issue of drug and dangerous substance abuse is a National emergency, as such, it requires collective efforts to rescue the younger generation.
The Grand Bassa Lawmaker remained vocal in the advocacy for National Government to take proactive steps against the waves of rape and demostic violence cross the Country.
She maintained that the incidences of rape , especially kids are alarming, as such she said all state actors should put their feet down to ensure justice for victims as well as erect checkpoints to eradicate such unwholesome acts in the Liberian Society.
Senator Lawrence concluded by commending the participants and encouraged them to make good use of the knowledge acquired and at the same time promised to reach out to all young girls in the County.
