Presidential Aspirant Cllr. Taiwon Sayes Gongloe campaign team has received big boost to enhance mobility and transportation when its United States of America, Minnesota Chapter on Tuesday November 8, 2022, made a presentation of two vehicles to team Gongloe in Liberia for the operational use in the upcoming 2023 presidential and legislative elections.
The vehicles were presented to Team Gongloe at their office in the suburbs of Congo Town, Monrovia. The presentation was made in the presence of several women and youths who are supporters of Cllr. Gongloe presidential bid.
Making the presentation on behalf of the Team Gongloe US Minnesota Chapter through a video call, the executive director of Team Gongloe Minnesota Mr. Joe Muhlenburg said that the gesture is the way of Team Gongloe in the United States, Minnesota way of helping to boost the campaign team of the presidential bid ahead of the 2023 elections.
Mr. Muhlenburg noted that the time is now that Liberians rally around team Gongloe to him the next president of Liberia to redeem the country from the current crisis, adding that gone are those days when people will elect people based on tribalism or for money.
‘’This is the beginning of a new day for all Liberians to come together in changing the narrative of politics in Liberia. Cllr. Gongloe is the person who is well prepared to lead the Country. He is a man of integrity, transparency and has strong respect for the law. We believe that with this and his stance against corruption Liberia will make change’’ Mr. Muhlenburg noted.
Speaking on the visit of Cllr. Gongloe to the United States of America, Mr. Muhlenburg disclosed that they are well prepared and organized to receive Cllr. Gongloe in the Minnesota the 26 of November.
He explained that they are currently having tickets on sale and the first batch of tickets that were printed are finished and they have printed the second batch, adding that the money collected will be used to support the presidential ambition of Cllr. Gongloe.
‘’There are many from around several states in the US that are coming for the program in Minnesota. We believe in his ability to lead this country to a better place. We have secured everything for the arrival of Cllr. Gongloe. We have given two vehicles and we are ready to do more because he is the only person that can change Liberia’’ he further said.
Receiving the vehicles Cllr. Taiwon S. Gongloe said they are very much happy for the donation from the team from the USA, noting that the vehicles will be used for the campaign process.
He said the team is not surprised by the donation because Team Gongloe in the US had been helping them since they started this process, and they are going to use the vehicles to reach all around the Country.
Speaking further Cllr. Gongloe said for the past weeks he and his team had been on county visitation in Nimba and he was able to interact with citizens.
According to him he was able to reach out to over 165 towns and villages to know what they are going through and to tell them what he will be able to do for the citizens of Liberia when elected as President.
Cllr. Gongloe explained that President Weah had failed Liberians and it’s time for them to vote against the Weah government on ground that the people of Liberia do not have trust in the government.
“President don’t have time for the Liberian people, and we will do all it takes to defeat him in the upcoming elections through the ballot box. My desire to contest the seat of the highest office in Liberia are based on the continued lawlessness on the part of the Weah-led administration.
“I am running to be president because of lawlessness in the country. For a long time in our country, our government had not been able to govern by the rule of law and it has undermined public trust,” Cllr. Gongloe said.
Also, Cllr. Gongloe promised to combat corruption when he becomes president of Liberia, stating that corruption cannot be eradicated but it can be minimized, and they can do a lot to curtail it.
Cllr. Gongloe further stated that his government will strengthen the application of the law, noting that they will reduce the crime rate in the country under his reign, Liberia will be a safe place for tourism, he added.
