Opposition Liberty Party (LP) embattled Chairman Musa Hassan Bility has said former ruling Unity Party (UP) and All Liberian Party (ALP), since their disintegrated from the formidable opposition Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) they are making no progress in their political sojourn.
Speaking recently to cross session of partisans of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) and the Liberty Party (LP) during the ceremony of the re-launched of the CPP framework document, held at the LP national headquarters in Sinkor, Chairman Bility claimed that the two parties are struggling because, since their brake up from the CPP there have been nothing substantial with their political institutions.
‘’All those who were jumping out of the CPP, from the time they left they have never taken any concrete step neither are they making progress. We should have stay here and fight in the house and put it together for the sake of Liberia.
However, that is what the Liberty Party and ANC have done currently and have entrusted the CPP to Mr. Alexander B. Cummings to head the standard bearership”, Chairman Bility told the gathering.
He said the country is in a very difficult time but they have entrusted the CPP to Mr. Cummings because they believe in his leadership skills and ability to take over what he describes as ‘’a broken country and divided people where doing the wrong has become the norm and tradition.
Mr. Bility, however, expressed optimism that the re-launched of CPP document will flourish, stating that he believes other parties will join them soon because they are the only option that is left for Liberia and Liberians because they stand for a reason.
He further indicated that the LP from the genesis of the CPP made a commitment to stand and stay in the Collaboration, which they have continued to do therefore, they will never be an obstacle to the forward march of Liberia and the CPP.
‘’We were very clear that because of the loss of our founding father Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine, we were patriotic enough to recognize that therefore at this time our party was not in the position to produce a president to governor this country. We committed to that and we remain committed to that, and that why we have stay to work with you Mr. Cummings because we believe together we can bring about a Liberia that everybody will have a voice, business will flourish, we will feed ourselves and young girls will not be abused’’, said Mr. Bility.
Meanwhile, the LP Chairman has urged partisans not to mistake the process and see their coming together as a means where they will be pay, adding that those thinking on pay will be disappointed.
‘This is a liberation war, and so in liberation there is no pay because the only pay is to free the country. All should make the sacrifices to change the country. ANC let me now tell you, you have produced the leader of the opposition and you should be humble by this. Mr. Cummings is no longer stander bearer of ANC but CPP.”
