Ahead of his official petitioning program on November 20, 2022, to contest Montserrado county District #6 representative seat, scores of residents in King Gray community have petition Mr. J. Melton N. Yoko to contest the pending 2023 general elections.

King Gray is one of the densely populated disadvantage youths’ communities in Montserrado County and have petitioned one of its sons to contest in the 2023 General Elections for Representative seat.

Citizens of King Gray Community in Montserrado County electoral District six on Sunday November 13, petitioned Mr. Melton Yoko for the District representative seat comes 2023 General Elections.

According to them, Mr. Yoko who came from the slump has over the years impacted lives of several people in their community ranging from women empowerment, scholarship for over seventy-five youths to archive secondary education, empowerment of both disadvantage youths and disables amongst other.

They indicated that with Mr. Yoko being their son who came from the slump and understands the struggle, they believed that he could bring change to Montserrado County electoral district six.

Pictorial From The Event

Receiving the petition, Mr. Melton Yoko said the people of King Gray will have to disprove many critics who think that nothing good can come from their community.

“We will have to let the world know that something good can come from our community, King Gray”, Yoko disclosed.

King Gray, you have suffered for so long, this is the time for you to make one of your own, I mean someone who will come to your aid.

He continues; “you give land to people to build school, but your children are not going to school, you give land to people to build hospital but when you go to the hospital you died at the door, this must stop”.

Furthermore, he lamented that gone are the days when people are elected to represent the interest of the people who elected them but, in the end, it turns on the opposite.

He however, encouraged citizens to remain supportive as 2023 gets closer and named the provision of quality education, women and youth empowerment, sports, and development among others as his major objectives if handed the opportunity to serve.

“This district will change, and your lives will change as long as we work together, if you are working hard and you are still poor something is lacking and whatever is lacking, we together must get it solve”, he said.

Mr. Yoko received a rousing welcome on every step along the way from the multitude of citizens for his continue support towards their children’s education and the introduction of modern sporting activities in the area.
